Cicinho vers Manchester ?

Arrivé au Real le 1er janvier en provenance de Sao Paolo le latéral droit brésilien pourrait très vite écourter son aventure madrilène.

Rappelons que Manchester avait déjà essayer d’enrôler le joueur l’année dernière après ses excellentes performances en coupe des confédérations mais que les discussions avaient vite tournées court après que MU ait appris que le joueur exigeait la moitié du montant de son transfert comme prime à la signature.

Manchester United revient donc à la charge et ce suite aux prestations du joueur en ligue des champions face à Arsenal et Antonio Reyes (vis-à-vis direct du joueur pendant le match).

Le joueur serait considéré par MU comme un successeur idéal de Gary Neville sur le flanc droit de la défense mancunienne.

Le successeur de Gary sera très probablement Bardsley vue ses perfs quand il etait titulaire. En plus, il vaut quand meme mieux pour nous que ce soit un joueur formé au club.

Concernant Tevez et Mascherano, ça ne me derange pas qu´ils partent à Chelsea. Tevez n´est surement pas meilleur que Rooney et je suis pas totalement convaincu qu´ils puissent s´adapter à la vie anglaise à moins qu´ils soient comme Gaby.

Man Utd : nouveau contrat pour Solskjaer (24/03)
Accablé par les blessures depuis trois saisons, le Norvégien de Manchester United Ole Gunner Solskjaer voit enfin une belle éclaircie dans sa vie de footballeur. Buteur lors de la finale de Ligue des champions remportée par MU contre le Bayern de Munich en 1999, l´attaquant va se voir proposer un nouveau contrat à Old Trafford. L´information est divulgée sur le site officiel des Red Devils, soucieux de garder "un fantastique joueur et une fantastique personne." Une belle action de la part du club mancunien, et une belle preuve de confiance.

Man Utd : 500è pour Neville (24/03)
Le défenseur latéral de Manchester United, Gary Neville, fêtera son 500è match sous la tunique des Red Devils à l’occasion de la 31è journée de Premier League. Au club depuis 1992, l’international anglais de 31 ans ne compte pas s’arrêter là et pourrait continuer l’aventure encore quatre années, selon ses propres souhaits. Fidèle au club depuis quatorze saisons, Neville s’est forgé un joli palmares avec notamment six championnats, une Ligue des champions, deux coupes d’Angleterre et une coupe de la Ligue.

Perrin to shun Prem interest

St Etienne starlet Loic Perrin looks set to shun interest from Arsenal and Manchester United to remain with Les Verts.

The French Under-21 international has impressed since making the breakthrough at Le Chaudron - although largely in defence.

Perrin is keen to play in his preferred position of defensive midfield and the likely departure this summer of Didier Zokora means he will almost certainly get a chance to fill the void.

Because of this, Perrin is set to shun reported interest from Arsenal, United and Juventus - who have all been impressed by the 20-year-old displays this term.

Heinze nears United return

Manchester United could very well welcome back Gabriel Heinze to their starting line-up this season.

Heinze has been recovering well from his knee ligament injury, but Sir Alex Ferguson has been keen not to rush him back to action.

The Argentine is desperate to make the World Cup finals and United number two Carlos Queiroz has admitted Heinze could soon return.

"Everything is going fantastically for Gaby so far and hopefully, in four to six weeks, he will be fit," said Queiroz.

"He is not training with the team yet, just following his individual recovery preparation, but he is doing well.

"We will not rush him, just follow the recovery process week after week but we still hope he could play again before the end of the season."

Queiroz insists that Heinze will not be allowed to hurry back just to make it to Germany.

"The most important thing in all this is the player and whether he is totally recovered and ready to play," he said.

"The final decision to give him clearance should be made by us and the Argentine medical staff."

Queiroz also reported back that Alan Smith´s rehabilitation from his broken leg could soon begin.

"Alan will have another operation to remove the pin next week and then he can start the next stage on his recovery process," confirmed Queiroz.

"He is able to work in the gym now and compliment his preparation with other exercises."

En obtenant le nul (1-1) samedi à Leicester, Reading, leader du Championship (la deuxième division anglaise), jouera la saison prochaine en Premier League.

Champagne pour Reading. En décrochant un point samedi sur la pelouse de Leicester, la ville située à 80 km à l’ouest de Londres a obtenu officiellement son billet pour la Premier League la saison prochaine. Avec seulement deux défaites en quarante matchs, Reading devance en tête du Championship Sheffield United de 14 points, et Watford de 20 points.

Ruud committed to United

Ruud van Nistelrooy has emphatically denied rumours suggesting he is unhappy at Manchester United.

The Dutchman has been repeatedly left out of the starting line-up in recent weeks, with Sir Alex Ferguson preferring to opt for Louis Saha and Wayne Rooney up front.

With Saha starting to find the back of the net on a regular basis and Rooney so often being the catalyst of Red Devils´ fine performances, the situation shows no impending sign of change.

Media speculation has been fervent regarding van Nistelrooy´s future at Old Trafford, with rumours persisting that he is not happy with life in Manchester.

Top European clubs are bound to have taken notice, and the likes of Internazionale and Real Madrid have already been linked with moves for the 29-year-old.

Ferguson and chief executive David Gill have been quick to rubbish the claims, and now van Nistelrooy has also quashed talk of a possible transfer, insisting that he is committed to United long-term.

"It´s an absolute nonsense," he stressed. "I want to play out my contract."

Gill also reaffirmed the club´s faith in van Nistelrooy, stating that Man United were looking to strengthen, not offload one of their biggest stars.

"We certainly believe he will be staying with the club next year," Gill told Radio Five Live´s Sportsweek programme.

"He signed a new long term contract and there is two further years to go on that. He is part of our squad which we are looking to improve in the summer.

"If you are looking to improve your squad, you are not going to sell the goalscorer who can deliver 25 to 30 goals a season.

"He is very much part of our plans and we are looking forward to him playing a part in what should be a successful season."

However, Gill refused to talk about the current state of the Dutchman´s relationship with Ferguson.

"I am not going to comment on that particular issue. I am sure he´s a great player, I´m sure he would like to be playing week in, week out, but as we know in football these days it is a big squad game and I´m sure he must be happy at Manchester United.

"I´ve not spoken to him directly, that is Alex´s job and those discussions I have with Alex will be kept private."

Giggs eyeing more glory

Ryan Giggs believes he has a major role to play at Manchester United.

The Welsh star is one of the elder statesmen at Old Trafford and has been shifted from the left wing to the middle of the park by Sir Alex Ferguson this term.

The move was perhaps prompted by the midfield crisis which hit the club in the middle of the campaign but, at 32, Giggs´ legs no longer carry him at the speed they once did.

Despite entering the autumn of his career, Giggs feels he has a major role to play at Old Trafford and believes the club could soon be challenging for the Premiership title once again.

"It is exciting to be part of the new generation, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Giuseppe Rossi, there is so much talent," said the Wales international. "It is great just to watch them in training sometimes.

"I think it is possible for me to win another title. With the players we have, we have every chance.

"We have so much quality."

Ferguson will oversee the new generation at Old Trafford, according to club legend Sir Bobby Charlton.

Charlton believes the decision on when Ferguson retires will be made by the man himself.

"When Sir Alex wants to make a decision on his future, I am sure he will tell the media and he will tell us," said Charlton. "We will not make any decisions because we don´t think we need to.

"His position never ever gets mentioned, other than Alex Ferguson´s future will be here and it always will be for as long as he wants."
