United pair extend deals
Manchester United duo Darren Fletcher and John O´Shea have penned contract extensions with The Red Devils.
The pair, who have signed deals until 2009, have followed in Rio Ferdinand´s footsteps in committing to the Old Trafford outfit.
Fletcher and O´Shea agreed the deals back in August when Paul Scholes put pen-to-paper and have now penned their contracts.
Scotland international Fletcher, who scored for his country in Slovenia, joined United as a trainee in 2000 and has gone on to become a regular under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Republic of Ireland international defender O´Shea is a valuable member of United´s squad due to his versatility.
The 24-year-old predominantly plays at the back, but he can also operate in midfield and showed an eye for goal when he netted away at Arsenal last season.
With the duo´s future secure, Ferguson´s next priority will be to tie down Portugal international winger Cristiano Ronaldo on a long-term deal.
En attendant Cristiano...
