OLD TRAFFORD is the nation´s favourite football venue.

Manchester United´s stadium came out as the favourite ground overall in a study which asked football fans to rate their own club´s stadium, as well as other clubs they´d visited.

Manchester City´s Eastlands claimed the number two spot with Newcastle third, Reading fourth and Sunderland fifth.

But when asked which grounds were the best for comfort, food quality to ease of access, the results tell a different story.

Hull´s KC stadium came top followed by Sunderland, Derby, Reading and Southampton. Manchester United were relegated to 13th.

Geoff Aucock, of Drivers Jonas, who commissioned the survey, said: "When fans vote with their heads the newer-build stadia are hard to beat.

"But when it comes to their hearts the nation is clearly very fond of Manchester United and its Theatre of Dreams."

When it comes to food, football clubs are not known for their culinary prowess except of course in East Anglia where at Delia Smith´s Norwich City you´d expect top quality.

But the Canaries only managed second place in the football food league as they were pipped to top spot by Bristol Rovers.

The most over-priced food is at Reading

Les ennuis de Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ne sont pas terminés. Absent toute la saison dernière à cause d´une blessure au cartilage du genou droit, l´attaquant de Manchester United devra encore repousser son retour à la compétition. Agé de 32 ans, le joker norvégien espérait refouler les pelouses le mois prochain mais une nouvelle douleur au genou, l´en empêche. Selon le médecin qui l´avait opéré l´année dernière, et qui s´exprime dans The Sun, "il est impossible aujourd´hui de prévoir une date de retour".

Timm Heads To Norway

Mads Timm has joined Norwegian side FC Lyn Oslo on loan until the end of 2005.

The 20-year-old forward, born in Odense in Denmark, has made one appearance for the Reds, coming on as a substitute in the Champions League against Maccabi Haifa in 2002.

United fans will know FC Lyn as the club from which the Reds thought they had acquired Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel.

That transfer remains unresolved, although the football authorities have ordered Mikel to return to Norway.

FC Lyn are surprise contenders for the Norwegian title race this year.

Lyn´s coach, former United defender Henning Berg, has combined exciting young talent with experienced campaigners to take his side third behind leader IK Start and second-placed Valerenga IF after 19 games played.

Timm becomes the eleventh player to be sent out on loan.

The United players out on loan are: Ben Foster (Watford), David Jones (Preston), David Bellion (West Ham), Paul McShane (Brighton), Jonathan Spector (Charlton), Chris Eagles (Sheffield Wednesday), Phil Picken (Chesterfield), Colin Heath, Tom Heaton (Swindon), Eddie Johnson (Crewe).

a mon avis pour soslkjaer c fini on ne le revera plus avec le maillot de manchester,c´est dommage ce fut un grand joueur ki nous a bocou aider mais les champions doivent un jour se retirer merci monsieur ole gunnar solskjaer.

De toute facon il signera surement pour faire partie du staff.

Gattuso a simplement dit qu´il avait penser quitter le club après la défaite à Istanbul mais il n´a pas envie de partir en ce moment.

De toute facon ca m´etonnerait que MU ait les moyens de se le payer.

Faut voir aussi que si on veut un joueur à ce poste là, je pense que Ballack, meme s´il n´est pas très defensif, sera privilegié car il ne coutera rien (s´il ne resigne pas, biensûr). Et comme Keane devrait arreter puisqu´il n´a pas parlé de continuer pour l´instant ça libère de la masse salariale donc c´est faisable.

Cela dit je pense que Jones aura sa chance chez nous quant il reviendra donc pas sûr du tout qu´on recrute.

Youthful Influence For United In Europe

United have registered 33 players in their squad for this season´s Champions League, with an impressively low average age of just 23.

Such has the emphasis been on reinvigorating United´s team with young players - be it through the emergence from the youth team of Fletcher, O´Shea, Brown, Bardsley, or signings like Rooney, Ronaldo, Rossi, Pique - that United now have one of the youngest squads in Europe.

There is still the vital experience of Keane, Neville, van der Sar, Scholes and Giggs, and players approaching their peak, like van Nistelrooy, Ferdinand and Heinze.

But there is an exciting young edge to Ferguson´s squad. Rooney, Ronaldo and Fletcher are at the forefront of the United manager´s thinking, but there is another wave of players seeking first-team experience.

Three 18-year-olds Giuseppe Rossi, Gerard Pique, Lee Martin and the youngest of United´s players in the squad this season, 17-year-old defender Jonny Evans, are further evidence of a new guard emerging under Sir Alex´s guidance.

Here, ManUtd.com takes a look at five young players to be included in the Reds´ European squad this season...

Giuseppe Rossi - The most high-profile of United´s teenagers, bar Wayne Rooney. Rossi joined from Parma in summer 2004 and has made his mark at Reserve level with some fine goals. He´s made three appearances so far for the Reds, and his continual inclusion in the first-team squad suggests there is plenty more to come.

Gerard Pique - The 18-year-old centre-back, signed from Barcelona last year, is similar in style to Rio Ferdinand; tall, comfortable on the ball and an intelligent reader of the game. Another player likely to add to his three appearances for United.

Lee Martin - A midfielder signed from Wimbledon as a 16-year-old, Martin has impressed at Reserve level with his ceaseless running and energy bursting into the opposition box. Yet to debut for the Reds, but a first appearance cannot be far away.

Jonny Evans - Belfast-born Jonny is a tall and strong centre-back. He was commanding at the back for United´s U18s last year. Being given a squad number is a big step up for Jonny, who only made his debut for the Reserves last season. He is likely to gain experience by travelling with the first-team rather than breaking into the team this year.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake - The 19-year-old striker is a clinical finisher and he struck up a potent partnership with Rossi in the Reserves last season before a broken leg ended his season prematurely. Came on as a sub against Crewe in the Carling Cup last year, his only first-team experience to date.

Pays de Galles-Angleterre s´est soldé par la victoire des anglais, 0-1, but de Joe Cole. Rooney et Ferdinand ont été pas mal. Richardson est rentré, il n´a pas joué longtemps mais a posé quelques problèmes sur le côté gauche. Côté gallois, Giggs, toujours fin dribbleur (ça faisait longtemps que je l´avais pas vu jouer), très important dans cette sélection.

L´Angleterre ne s´est pas imposé nettement dans le jeu, a beaucoup reculé en fin de match. Ce qui aurait pu leur coûter l´égalisation.
