Team Spirit Will Assist Our 100% Record - Fergie
Sir Alex Ferguson has urged his players to keep pace with Chelsea as the Reds look to extend their unbeaten start to the season to five games when they travel to Newcastle on Sunday.
United are yet to concede a goal as they have won their opening four matches against Debreceni (3-0 twice), Everton (2-0) and Aston Villa (1-0).
"We´ve made a good start to the season," Ferguson said. "It´s important because that was what we lacked last season.
"The attitude and the spirit in the place is great. We are playing well and there is no reason why we can´t continue that.
"Chelsea have a 100% record as well. We want to stay that way. The only way we can do that is by going to places like Newcastle and continuing that run."
Gary Neville is the only new injury absentee for the Reds boss. The England defender tore a groin muscle in the midweek win over Debreceni and is expected to be out for up to five weeks.
"Everyone´s OK," the manager said. "Kieran Richardson didn´t train on Friday morning, but he should train on Saturday so I am sure he will be fine.
Roy Keane will also rejoin the squad after being rested for the trip to Hungary. Keane has offered to advise his team-mate Alan Smith on adapting to a new midfield role.
"I´m not surprised Roy has done that," Sir Alex said. "He is one of the longest-serving players in the squad and he wants us to do well all the time. Winning is as important to him as it is to me.
"I think that he sees certain characteristics in Alan that he had himself as a young person. Alan has the attributes that could develop him into a very good player in that position."
