Scholes pens United deal
Paul Scholes has penned a two-year extension to his Manchester United contract.
The 30-year-old former England international midfielder is now tied to the Old Trafford giants until June 2009.
Scholes, who has amassed over 450 appearances for the club since making his debut back in 1994, has been a key figure for United over the years.
The Salford-born ace famously missed the 1999 UEFA Champions League final through suspension, but has won six Premiership titles and three FA Cup winners medals during his time at Old Trafford.
" Paul has given us 16 great years of service," explained manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
" We hope his next four years is as good as his last four years. He has deserved our loyalty because he has given us plenty back."
In a busy week regarding contracts at United, Scholes has been joined by Ferdinand who has put pen-to-paper on his new Red Devils contract.
Ferguson is now looking to wrap up Cristiano Ronaldo´s deal after John O´Shea and Darren Fletcher agreed to extend their stays at the club.
" We are delighted Rio has signed," added Ferguson.
" With John and Darren agreeing their contracts and Cristiano probably signing his next week we have a team that can stay together for four years now, which is fantastic news."
>> Beaucoup de prolongations à MU en ce moment. ^^
