Man Utd dismiss Owen speculation
Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has dismissed suggestion of a swoop for Real Madrid pair Michael Owen and Iker Casillas.
Queiroz, who had an ill-fated stint as Real coach, also ruled out a bid for Luis Figo, who is set to leave the Spanish giants this summer.
" Casillas is not in Manchester´s plans, Owen does not interest us either, and there is no Figo negotiation," he said.
Queiroz also denied that Real had made an approach for Cristiano Ronaldo.
A representative for the Portuguese winger, who is two years into a five-year deal at Old Trafford, confirmed that he is prepared to negotiate a revised contract.
" He still has three years to go on his contract so we will see what happens," Luis Correia, business partner of Ronaldo´s agent Jorge Mendes commented.
" He will travel to Portugal with his team later this month so maybe a deal will be sorted out then.
" Of course, he is a top player and will attract interest from other clubs, but he is just concentrating on his football at the moment."
United´s Robinho admiration
Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has expressed his admiration for Santos starlet Robinho.
The brilliant Brazilian is on the verge of joining Real Madrid and the former Bernabeu boss has little doubt that the South American will become a ´Galactico´ in the near future.
Robinho, currently in Confederations Cup action for his country, has also been targeted by Arsenal but is looking increasingly certain to tie up a move to Madrid.
" I am seeing many of his games," Queiroz told Radio Marca. " He seems a great player to me.
" In a few years, he will be one of the Galacticos."
The United man also insisted there had been no talks with Real winger Luis Figo, who is on Newcastle United´s wanted list.
Portuguese legend Figo is on the brink of leaving Real providing he can find a club to meet his salary demands.
" He is a fantastic player but there are not any negotiations opened," added Queiroz.
" With his quality and winning professional attitude, he can still play in any team."
Park facing call-up row
Park Ji-sung could be facing a club versus country row with his new team Manchester United this summer.
The South Korean international has all but sealed his move to Old Trafford from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven this week - with the midfielder only in need of a work permit to begin his Red Devils career.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson´s plan to have his latest addition in his squad for the start of the new season may be thwarted by potential call-ups for his country.
Park could be named in South Korea´s squad for this summer´s East Asian Football Federation championship and their World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia on August 17.
Should Park receive those call-ups, the player may miss part of United´s pre-season plans and the start of the Premiership season
Ferguson is keen to avoid the situation that dogged his squad last season when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gabriel Heinze were unavailable because of international duty last summer.
Heinze missed the opening month of last season because of Copa America and Athens Olympics commitments with Argentina, while Ronaldo was in Athens with the Portuguese squad.
It remains to be seen if Park will need to appear for his country at that time, especially with South Korea already qualified for next summer´s World Cup finals in Germany.
>> Park risque de rater le debut de saison et la pré-saison comme Gaby et Ronaldo l´an dernier, ça commence fort.
Pas sur encore qu´il y aille apparemment.
Fergie in Owen KO
Manchester United have decided not to buy Michael Owen, according to Carlos Queiroz. The Old Trafford No 2 insists boss Alex Ferguson will not pursue his interest in Real Madrid ace Owen. Fergie has also been linked with Bernabeu stars Iker Casillas and Luis Figo, but Queiroz last night ruled out a bid for any Real players. He said: " I admire Casillas but he is not in Manchester United´s plans. We are not interested in Michael Owen either." United and Real have called a transfer truce after exchanging official faxed messages vowing not to unsettle each other´s stars.

Pat Park and slide
The bitter rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United may have been cranked up again by Park Ji-Sung’s £4million arrival at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old winger from Dutch side PSV has previous against Arsene Wenger’s Gunners. The Korean was at the centre of a Champions League storm last November as Arsenal drew 1-1 in the Phillips Stadion. Arsenal were reduced to nine men when skipper Patrick Vieira followed Lauren down the tunnel after he took out Park from behind. Vieira was so upset by his dismissal he refused to talk about it. But he will not have forgotten that night — or Park. The Korean and Ruud van Nistelrooy are the last two players involved in Vieira red cards. Vieira’s dismissal for the Park foul came 14 months after he went off in the first Battle of Old Trafford.

>> Si c´est vrai ça nous promet des rencontres avec Arsenal toujours plus agitées.
Park passes Old Trafford medical
South Korean midfielder Park Ji-Sung has passed his medical at Manchester United and will complete his £4m move from PSV Eindhoven next month.
Park, 24, will seal his switch to Old Trafford on 1 July, subject to United obtaining a work permit for him.
He will not take part in United´s training camp in Portugal next week and will return to the club on 4 July ready for the tour of the Far East.
Fortune on Toon talk
Manchester United´s Quinton Fortune has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle United.
Magpies boss Graeme Souness is rumoured to be an admirer of the tenacious South Africa international, who is not a regular starter at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, the versatile midfielder is determined to make his mark with The Red Devils and has no intention of departing this summer.
In an exclusive interview with Kick Off in his homeland, Fortune stressed his desire to continue wearing the red shirt of United.
" I have heard about this," he responded when asked about Newcastle´s interest. " But it is just speculation.
" My manager has heard nothing concrete on the Newcastle issue.
" No, I never [see myself as just a squad member at United]. I see myself as a first-teamer.
" You have to see yourself that way. And a club like United need lots of players that see themselves that way, even if some of the team are not always in the first XI.
" The competition is huge over there and you give absolutely everything just to stay in the first team.
" You have to work really, really hard," he told Kick Off. " You have to be really, really patient.
" There´s times you sit on the bench and ask yourself: ´What´s happening to my life?´ You have to realise that it is very difficult.
" You have to work really, really hard. I mean, harder than you can ever imagine working in football."
Fortune´s favoured position is the centre of midfield but he is happy to play anywhere for Sir Alex Ferguson.
" Yes, I would prefer to play centre midfield," he continued. " I feel more complete there.
" I get more of the ball and can be more creative.
" But every single game I play [is a highlight]. Every time I pull on a United shirt, I have to check myself. It´s me, Quinton, playing for Man United!"
chouette je commence a l´aimer park . ..
Milieux gauches: Giggs, Richardson
Milieux axiaux: Fortune, Scholes, Keano, Phil, Fletcher
Milieux droits: Cristiano, Park

JOSE GETS IT WRIGHT
Chelsea seal £18M deal for City livewire Shaun as spending spree goes on
JOSE MOURINHO has agreed an £18million deal with Manchester City for Shaun Wright-Phillips - and he will be unveiled as a Chelsea player within days.
And Mourinho hopes to take his summer spending towards the £50m mark as he is also close to signing Lyon midfielder Michael Essien.
This latest spree will send shockwaves through English football. Chelsea, who have already signed Athletic Bilbao left-back Asier Del Horno for £8m, have tracked Wright-Phillips for months but have blown their rivals out of the water with a stunning swoop. The England winger, 23, was also wanted by Arsenal but they never stood a chance against the mega bucks of Chelsea´s billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.
The player is expected to be unveiled at Stamford Bridge early next week after agreeing a five-year deal worth around £80,000 a week.

It is a major blow for City boss Stuart Pearce but the club is £40m in debt and could not resist Chelsea´s offer. It will now allow Pearce to sign Southampton´s new England striker Peter Crouch.
The Wright-Phillips deal is the biggest between English clubs since Wayne Rooney joined Manchester United from Everton for £20m last season.
It is something of a surprise for Wright-Phillips to take the gamble of joining Chelsea because Mourinho already has two established wingers in Arjen Robben and Damien Duff.
But both have had injury problems, and Chelsea badly missed a further wide option when they sat out the Champions League semi-final defeat to Liverpool.
Wright-Phillips sees the move as a risk because he may no longer be an automatic choice as he attempts to press his England claims in a World Cup season.
Wright-Phillips, whose adoptive father is Arsenal legend Ian Wright, has seen other players go from strength to strength at Chelsea and he believes the move can help him.
Mourinho has also been tracking Lyon´s Ghana midfielder Essien for months but has now increased his bid to £20m.
Essien´s agent Fabien Pireteaou is on the brink of tying up a £70,000-a-week contract and Lyon´s new coach Gerard Houllier is resigned to losing him to the Premiership champs in the next few days.
This will really sent shockwaves through every top clubs if the news is ture
