English teams chase Inter´s Emre

Inter Milan are reviewing " two or three offers" from Premiership clubs for Turkey midfielder Belozoglu Emre.
Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the 24-year-old.

" We´ve two or three offers from English Premier League teams for Emre," said Inter´s sporting director Marco Branca.

" They´re big clubs and they´ve been reported in the press," added Branca. " We´ll evaluate the situation before making a decision."

Emre, who has a contract with Inter until June 2007, made 19 Serie A appearances in the 2004-05 campaign.

The talented playmaker arrived at Inter in 2001 - in a £5m deal that also led to Okan Buruk and Hakan Sukur being brought in from Galatasaray.

Man Utd set for new ticket record

It was feared that fans would stay away from Old Trafford
Manchester United expect to sell a record 42,500 season tickets before the new campaign begins in August.
United have put an extra 2,500 season tickets on sale and have already eclipsed last year´s mark of 40,072, despite an average price rise of 10%.

There had been fears that fans would vote with their feet following Malcolm Glazer´s takeover at Old Trafford.

But a club spokesman said: " The likelihood is we will sell out before the start of the season."

Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News reports that United have seen a minimal increase in the number of season tickets not being renewed for next season.

An average of 200 are not retained each year for a variety of reasons, and the increase this summer is understood to be in the tens, and not hundreds.

Zahavi unfazed by Fifa

Agent Pini Zahavi does not fear he will be punished by Fifa over his involvement in the Ashley Cole tapping up saga.

Zahavi was on hand at the meeting between Cole and Chelsea in which the England defender and The Blues were fined for the incident.

The agent has pleaded his innocence as he was not at the meeting in a working capacity.

" I wasn´t representing anybody," said Zahavi. " I was just chatting with a group of friends from the world of football."

Meanwhile, Zahavi remains confident Rio Ferdinand will pen an extension at Manchester United.

The former Leeds man has just one-year left on his deal at Old Trafford, but the club´s take-over and other business has held up a contract being finalised.

" The Glazer takeover and the fact that I have business matters to handle in Israel and in other places like Milan has slowed things down," explained Zahavi.

" But I´m confident that Rio will eventually stay at Old Trafford."

Chelsea/Man Utd await Obi ruling

Manchester United and Chelsea are waiting for Fifa´s decision over the Old Trafford club´s complaint regarding Nigerian John Mikel Obi´s transfer.
United and Norwegian club Lyn Oslo lodged a complaint with Fifa over Chelsea´s pursuit of the teenager.

Obi, 18, has claimed he was forced to sign a contract with United from Lyn.

" We´ve no comment on how long a ruling will take," a Fifa spokesman told BBC Sport. " Fifa has several hundred transfer dispute cases pending."

United announced Obi´s £4m transfer on 29 April after he scored twice on his Lyn debut.

But Obi then changed his mind and was quoted in Norwegian media as saying he wanted to join Chelsea.

According to Lyn lawyer Erik Nadheim, the Norwegian club and United sent a complaint to Fifa on Chelsea and two agents involved in the deal, John Shittu and Rune Hauge.

Hauge has said that First Division Lyn do not have the right to sell Obi.

Lyn believe they have a valid contract with Obi, which runs until the end of 2006.

A decision on the Obi case may take some time.

Last week Fifa ruled Roma must pay Auxerre £5.34m regarding Philippe Mexes´ transfer to the Italian club, a year after the French international moved to Serie A.

On Sunday Obi played for the Nigerian under-20s in a 0-0 draw against Brazil.

Foot - ANG - MU : Glazer prolonge son offre

L´homme d´affaires américain Malcolm Glazer est monté à 97,3 % du capital de Manchester United et a prolongé son offre de rachat jusqu´au 27 juin, a annoncé sa société véhicule, Red Football, mardi, dans un communiqué.

Malcolm Glazer avait lancé son offre de rachat le 13 mai dernier. A cette date, ayant déjà le contrôle du club avec 76,2 % du capital, il avait proposé de racheter le reste des actions au prix de 300 pence par action, valorisant le club à 790,3 millions de livres ( 1,178 milliard d´euros).

Le seul enjeu pour Glazer était de parvenir à mettre la main sur plus de 90 % des actions qu´il ne détenait pas encore : les détenteurs des 10 % restants auraient alors été tenus de lui céder leurs titres, en vertu de la législation financière britannique.

Or, lundi, échéance fixée initialement pour la clôture de l´offre, Glazer n´avait pu mettre la main que sur 88,7 % des actions restantes, montant à 97,3 % du capital. Il a donc décidé, comme il en avait le droit, de prolonger son offre jusqu´au 27 juin, pour tenter de convaincre les derniers récalcitrants. Cette prolongation de l´offre devrait avoir pour conséquence de différer le retrait des actions du club de la Bourse de Londres, qui devait intervenir autour du 22 juin.

Après les flops Kleberson et Djemba-Djemba, Manchester United doit trouver une alternative solide à Roy Keane, qui voit tout de même la fin de carrière se profiler. Et les émissaires des Red Devils étaient la semaine dernière au match Argentine-Brésil afin de superviser le milieu de terrain de River Plate Javier Mascherano. Ce dernier est un des grands espoirs du football argentin, et donnerait un bel élan à sa carrière en rejoignant Manchester. Mais River ne le lâchera certainement pas comme ça.

Aulas a dis qu´il ne vendra pas diarra a moins de 30 millions d´euros donc Mascherano c´est surement une alternative.

Les seules et rares fois qu´ils lui ont laissé sa chance ont été des échecs...
Et comme MU a plutôt un bon milieu de terrain...
Fletcher est nettement meilleur

Javier Mascherano est en effet très prometteur. Il ne participera par contre pas à la coupe des Confédérations --> copa libertadores oblige. Ca m´gènerait pas qu´il vienne à MU ^^
