Quand à Park, il n´a pas signé, contrairement à Vicente il laisse la possibilité à Giggs de jouer, voire à Richardson. Il est jeune et beaucoup moins cher...

Il y a des rumeurs comme quoi les couleurs de MU pourraient etre changées par les Glazer.

Park peut jouer aussi bien à droite qu´à gauche, sachant qu´à droite on a pour le moment seulement Cristiano de formé à ce poste ( Eagles sera sans doute encore prêté, Bellion joue un peu partout, Ole Gunnar est resté deux ans sans jouer) c´est pas inutile d´avoir quelqu´un qui peut suppléer à la fois Cristiano et Giggs, que Richardson reste ou pas.

GREAT ENGINE: Ji Sung Park

MANCHESTER United will land an all-action hero if Sir Alex Ferguson adds South Korean Ji Sung Park to his multi-national Old Trafford force.

Arnold Muhren, the Reds midfielder of the 1980s who now works for Ajax´s Academy, has monitored Park´s career in the Dutch Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven.

And he is convinced that the 24-year-old will be a hit in the Premiership.

United are closing in on the midfield player who was instrumental in winning the 2005 Dutch title for PSV.

The Dutch outfit, who have sold Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy to the Reds since 1998, have confirmed that United have made an official approach.

Park is currently on international duty and has been informed of Ferguson´s interest, but is waiting to speak to his PSV coach Guus Hiddink after he returns from holiday in New York and the player ends his season with South Korea.

But it looks like United will seal the signature of the Seoul-born player, who began his professional career with three seasons in Japan with Kyoto Purple Sanga.

He was a Korean star of the 2002 World Cup, when Dutchman Hiddink coached South Korea to an unexpected fourth place success on home soil.

When Hiddink was lured immediately back home to Eindhoven he took Park with him.

And Muhren believes his three-year stint with PSV has set the player up nicely for a switch to England with United.

" If Park goes to Old Trafford then United fans would love him, because he is a talented player but also a tireless worker," Muhren told M.E.N. Sport.

" He is an excellent prospect who will never let his team, his manager or his supporters down. He has a terrific engine and can run all day. His attitude is so positive."

United´s recent track record with foreign midfield imports has been poor, with Eric Djemba Djemba failing to nail down a place and eventually sold to Aston Villa.

Miserable

Now Brazilian Kleberson looks set to be shown the exit door, with Benfica showing an interest after his miserable form in England.

But Muhren insists Park would avoid the flop label, adding: " When he originally came to Holland there were a lot of doubts about him and his early impact was very disappointing.

" It is not an easy step moving from Asia to Europe. Holland is a different country, culture and footballing style to what he had been used to.

" But as a nation the Koreans are very, very hard workers. They want to be the best and be successful at everything they do, and the way they go about that is by extremely hard work.

" That´s what Park does. His workrate is unbelievable. You want to make a big impact when you go to a new club but Park didn´t. Yet he didn´t crumble.

" He just got his head down and worked harder to turn things around. If people criticise him he just works harder to prove them wrong.

" He appears to have a great character and, for that reason, with three years in Holland behind him I don´t think the Premiership would daunt him.

" And neither would Manchester United. He would relish it.

" Anyone who saw him play for PSV against AC Milan in the Champions League semi-final would see what a superb player he has become. I think he is one of the best in his position in Europe now.

" The workload involved in a Premiership campaign wouldn´t daunt him either. He could play two or three matches on the trot, let alone two or three in a week!

" If things didn´t start that brightly then he wouldn´t collapse and fade away. He´d fight back, and I´d have no doubts that he´d succeed. He has the ability and attitude to be the best."

Richardson est un bon joueur mais il n´a pas les qualités pour jouer à MU. Je l´ai beaucoup vu jouer à Wes Brom et dans les reserves. Il arrive pas à décoller le ballon du sol lorsqu´il centre. En un contre un, il est tres loin de joueurs comme Ronaldo ou Giggs.
Cependant il aime beaucoup MU.

de totues facons, si on achete park, il va jouer en alternance avec Ronaldo, Giggs, Richardson et non prendre la place d´une de ces personnes.

Juste pour l´anecdote, Van der Saar va honorer ce soir sa 100e sélection.

Richardson a la possibilité de faire la coupe du monde alors pour un joueur qui n´a pas les capacités de jouer à MU c´est pas mal...

Au meme poste que Park, on a Fletcher, Richardson, Ronaldo, Solskjaer, Giggs et meme Smith alors je pense qu´on a assez de couverture à ce niveau. J´aurais preferé qu´on se concentre sur un bon milieu defensif...

Je pensais qu´il l´avait déjà sa 100e selection, VDS.

Ouhla mais Smith est avant tout attaquant, moi je suis pas contre le fait qu´il dépanne à droite mais on a vu avec son début de saison tonitruant et ses rentrées toujours incisives qu´il était jamais aussi utile que devant le but...

Fletcher est milieu axial, Solskjaer attaquant de formation et aura été absent plus de 2 ans, Bellion on ne sait pas s´il va rester...Eagles devrait être encore prêté.

Donc il faut compter comme milieux offensifs plutôt Giggs, Richardson, Fortune ( qui jouera la CAN à priori), Cristiano. C´est deja beaucoup moins impressionnant, et Park tout de suite plus utile ^^

Et le milieu défensif je pense qu´il n´y en aura pas pour le moment, Mikel en janvier si la FIFA tranche pour nous, mais sinon faudra attendre la retraite de Keano dans un an.

Prions pour que Keane ne se blesse pas la saison prochaine alors.

C´est un milieu axial donc on va pas le classer avec nos milieux excentrés...Surtout que même s´il était mancunien il n´arrivera pas avant janvier.

Bien sur que MU dépensait deja énormément ( Rio, Veron, Ruud, etc), mais c´était sur un joueur voire deux grand maximum par année.

Pour moi Van der Saar a fait une trés belle saison, je suis curieux de voir ce qu´il peut donner derriére une défense avec Heinze, Silvestre, Rio et Gary...

Quand à Park il n´a pas encore signé mais serait un choix judicieux. Aprés tout Chelsea a été champion avec Thiago, Smertin, Oliveira ( etc).

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed he will send a full strength squad on the club´s pre-season trip to Asia.

The Reds will take in the sights of Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo during their four-game tour ( against the Hong Kong National Team, Beijing Hyundai, Kashima Antlers and Urawa Reds) at the end of the July.

The United boss has promised to send his biggest stars to the Far East, where fans are eagerly awaiting the visit of their heroes.

" All of us at Manchester United are acutely aware of the importance of recognizing and rewarding all our loyal fans in Asia," insisted the Boss. " And we are committed to bringing our top players over there.

" Our preparations for next season have probably never been as vital, and we will use every single pre-season match we play to the fullest.

" The players are looking forward to coming and it will be grand occasion for everyone."

One of United´s most popular stars in the Far East is Wayne Rooney, who echoed his manager´s sentiments about the trip.

At the same time, Rooney also offered some words of advice to aspiring Far East players, saying: " I´ve always loved playing football. Since I was very young, I´ve always practised and worked hard at my game.

" I´d advise anyone who wants to be a footballer to do the same. I look around me in training and when I´m playing in England and see really experienced players who still practice all the time.

Mainland striker Dong Fang Zhuo will complete the Reds line-up when be becomes the first Chinese player to turn out for United.

The 20-year-old has spent the past 17 months with feeder club Royal Antwerp and he is expected to generate major local interest as one of China’s brightest talents.
