Desperately disappointed Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson conceded the title to Chelsea after his misfiring side drew yet another Premiership blank at Old Trafford.

Despite twice hitting the post and having a Mikael Silvestre header cleared off the line during the first half, the Red Devils failed to put Blackburn under any serious pressure after the break and were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against Mark Hughes´ men.

Not only did the result leave them further adrift of Chelsea, it also dropped them down to third as Arsenal leapfrogged them in the battle for second spot, piling even more pressure on the United boss at a time when finances are falling.

" You can forget Chelsea, that´s for sure," said Ferguson.

" You do not win league titles with performances like that. It is going to be very difficult for us now and second spot is the real priority for us now."

The news got even worse for Ferguson, who confirmed new Wales skipper Ryan Giggs is likely to miss the FA Cup semi-final with Newcastle in a fortnight after damaging a hamstring just five minutes into

Saturday´s encounter, a legacy, the United boss believes, of a draining World Cup double-header with Austria.

" It went in his first sprint," said Ferguson.

" Maybe a lot of it is down to travelling with Wales. It was a big blow to us because we were trying to protect Roy Keane and we had to put him on almost immediately."

< <<< fin du titre pour fergie . Si on perds contre arsenal ce sera la merde . .

United consider Racing star

--------------------------------------------------
------------------------------

by Francisco Acedo - created on 4 Apr 2005

Skysports.com can reveal that Manchester United are considering a move for Uruguayan star Mario Regueiro.
Sir Alex Ferguson dispatched his brother Martin - United´s chief scout - to watch Racing Santander versus Espanyol on Sunday.
Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni came under Ferguson´s gaze, but he was not the primary target as United goalkeeping coach Tony Coton has already compiled a comprehensive dossier on the Cameroonian.
The main reason for Ferguson´s visit was indeed Racing´s South American star Regueiro.
The 26-year-old forward has bagged eight goals this season and has already attracted interest from leading Spanish clubs including Sevilla.
United have already admitted that they have limited transfer funds heading into the summer and the fact Regueiro is out of contract at the end of the season is sure to be an appealing feature.
Regueiro is not understood to have had a great game in front of Ferguson as he was withdrawn just after the hour, but how much of a bearing that has on whether United make a bid remains to be seen.
It is understood that United have already made contact with Regueiro´s agent Paco Casal about a possible move to Old Trafford - although he refused to confirm meetings had taken place.
The player insists he is only thinking about Racing and not United.
" All my future depends on my work in the next few weeks," Regueiro told skysports.com.
" My desire is to get success with Racing and not speak with United."
