Au sujet de Stam, déclaration officielle de Sir Roy Gardner du 22 mars, passé un peu inaperçue:
Lazio Debt
I am pleased to report that we have now collected nine instalments of the ten due from Lazio relating to the debt outstanding from the sale of Jaap Stam. These have arrived on time according to the schedule agreed in 2002 and a final payment is due in mid April. In the second half of the year we will be able, on receipt of the last instalment, to recognise compensation paid to us under the terms of this agreement of £1.5 million above the original deal.
Il nous reste un versement à toucher donc.

GAB´S SO SHOCKED
By David Mcdonnell
GABRIEL HEINZE admits he is amazed Manchester United fans have put aside England´s traditional hatred of Argentina to make him a cult hero at Old Trafford.
The Falklands War, Diego Maradona´s infamous ´Hand of God´ goal and David Beckham´s red-card at France 98 have all fuelled the animosity between the two nations.
But United fans have taken Heinze to their hearts - even chanting " Argentina" in his honour.
" I´m so grateful for those chants," said the £7m left-back. " Especially given everything that´s gone on between England and Argentina.
" It´s something that touches me deep down inside. It makes me feel really good and I´m proud and honoured that they do that for me.
" When you come to a new club you hope the supporters will appreciate you, so I´m very thankful to the United fans for the support they have shown."
Man Utd plot Pontins league exit
Manchester United are to quit the Pontins League this summer just one season after their return.
The move will also see them abandon Altrincham´s Moss Lane ground as their reserve-team base in favour of Hyde United´s Ewen Fields stadium.
Sir Alex Ferguson requested a return 12 months ago as he tried to give his youngsters some meaningful games.
However, Ferguson has also accepted the standard does not provide an ideal stepping stone towards the first-team.
The idea has worked to an extent, with United expected to tie up the title next month after the inclusion of Kleberson and David Bellion helped them move six points clear with a 3-2 win over Wrexham last night.
It is now thought he will pursue a policy of loaning out some of his younger fringe men, as he has done already this season by letting Kieran Richardson join West Brom and Chris Eagles link up with Watford, meaning there is no longer a need for Pontins League action.
It is bad news for cash-strapped Altrincham, who will lose an estimated £20,000 a year from United.
But Ferguson has become increasingly frustrated at the state of the Moss Lane pitch and the recent postponement of a home encounter with Wolves signalled the decision to relocate to Hyde, who played host to Manchester City´s reserve side until the Blues´ move to the Regional Athletics Stadium.
Glazer in with £790m bid
Manchester United expect to be hit with a £790million offer for their club this week. The board and fans groups are bracing themselves for the new and improved formal bid from American multi-millionaire Malcolm Glazer. The club have been trying to fight the American off for over a year now — but he will not go away. And this week he is expected to make his biggest move yet. The United board will then have to decide to recommend the offer of £3 a share to shareholders, reject it or offer no advice. The club rejected Glazer’s last bid in October. Glazer would have to borrow a substantial amount of the money, around £200m, plunging United into debt. Much still depends on what majority shareholders John Magnier and JP McManus do.

Man Utd : plainte contre Rooney retirée ( 30/03)
Smith happy at United
Alan Smith´s agent has revealed his client is happy at Manchester United, despite recent speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle United.
The former Leeds United ace opted to join United rather than The Magpies last summer, but has been linked with a St James´ Park switch recently.
Injury has curtailed Smith´s starting opportunities at The Reds Devils over the past months, although he is now fit and has made just one start in his last five appearances.
" I don´t think Alan´s position has changed at all," explained agent Alex Black.
" Everything is fine with Alan and he is happy at United. There are no problems.
" There has been speculation about Newcastle, but nobody has spoken to us about that."

Lotina fears Kameni exit
Arsenal are believed to be stepping up their interest in Espanyol´s highly-rated keeper Carlos Kameni.
The Cameroon international has been regularly reviewed by Manchester United but Arsene Wenger has reportedly muscled his way to the front of the queue in the race to sign the oustanding goalie.
Catalan media reports claim Wenger spoke with Kameni during the recent Camp Nou charity match in aid of the victims of the Tsunami.
United sent goalkeeping coach Tony Coton to see the Espanyol number one but Arsenal are emerging as the favourites to sign him, if his club agree to any move.
" The idea of the club is that Carlos remains on our staff," coach Miguel Angel Lotina told Sport.
" He is a player who is growing and his value is increasing which means that if an offer came, then we could not reject it automatically and for that reason the sports director is looking at players each day.
" In England there are various teams that have problems with their goalkeepers and so it would not be strange if an offer is made for him.
" The game against Barcelona was seen across Europe and Kameni´s actions were sensational.
" But we hae not received any offers for Kameni."
The African shot-stopper has a buy-out clause of €6 million which the club have been trying to renegotiate.
" The only thing I can say is that the player will improve more and, in some years, his value in the football market will be over €6 million," added Lotina.
Kameni was previously a target for Wolves when at Le Havre but the Molineux club could not obtain a work permit.
Rio worry for United
Manchester United ace Rio Ferdinand is a major doubt for the game with Blackburn after picking up an injury on international duty.
Ferdinand picked up a hamstring injury during England´s 2-0 win over Azerbaijan on Wednesday night.
The former Leeds man was forced off 13 minutes from time with the problem and was replaced by Ledley King.
England coach Sven Goran Eriksson is unsure how serious the injury is.
" Rio felt a bit of a hamstring problem," said Eriksson.
" I haven´t had time to speak to the doctors yet, but he told me that when he came off."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be anxiously waiting for news on the injury as he prepares for the visit of Blackburn on Saturday.
Van in driving seat for double Dutch
Ruud van Nistelrooy finally got on the scoresheet again as Holland beat World Cup Group One rivals Armenia 2-0. The striker, who last netted for Manchester United in November, slotted home after 34 minutes in Eindhoven.

Kameni refutes exit talk
Manchester United target Carlos Kameni has denied that he will leave Espanyol at the end of the season, despite his coach appearing to give the green light for clubs to start bidding for his services.
The Cameroon international has a contract with the Catalan outfit until 2007, but his displays this season have earned him rave reviews and have seen Premiership clubs like United and Arsenal begin to monitor his progression.
Miguel Angel Lotina admitted that if the right offer came in then the Barcelona-based club would find it difficult to ignore, stating: " He is a player who is growing and his value is increasing which means that if an offer came then we could not discard it automatically and for that reason the sports director is looking at players daily.
" In England there are various teams that have problems with their goalkeepers and so it would not be strange if an offer is made for him."
However, Kameni is adamant that he has no desire to quit the club that has given him the chance to play top flight football, and he is keen to repay that confidence.
" I just want to stay here and continue playing with Espanyol," the 20-year-old said.
" Of course, nobody knows what could happen in two, three or four years time.
" It is equally possible that I will finish my career here. I will never forget the confidence the club has shown in me.
" Despite my age and inexperience they have taken shown great faith in me. There are so many people here that have shown me real humanity."
Such is the esteem that Espanyol hold Kameni in, they have decided to release Belgium international stopper Erwin Lemmens at the end of the current campaign.
" I do not want to talk about that really, because it is a dangerous topic," Kameni continued. " It is a decision made by the club and the only thing I can say is that Lemmens is a great goalkeeper and a really nice guy."
