Alan Smith is set to leave Manchester United after just one season and move to Newcastle in a £6million summer deal. Smith, who made a controversial switch to Old Trafford for £7m last summer, has become increasingly frustrated by his failure to command a regular first team place at United. The £27m signing of Wayne Rooney from Everton has left Smith kicking his heels on the bench for the bulk of the season and club insiders claim the frustration has seen him reach breaking point. Smith, 24, has started in only 22 competitive games this season, scoring nine goals. Newcastle manager Graeme Souness has monitored Smith´s availability as has David Moyes at Everton. But Souness will test United´s resolve to hang on to the unhappy marksman with a substantial bid in the summer.

£25m threat to Glazer bid
Malcolm Glazer and Manchester United´s sponsors were last night warned to expect a huge £25million a year drop in revenue if the US tycoon succeeds in his takeover bid. The United board has been sent the results of three major surveys. Two were by independent market researchers Benchpoint and the other by Shareholders United. They show 97% of fans are opposed to the planned takeover and 78% would be reluctant to spend money. They threaten a boycott of games, merchandising and the products of major sponsors like Vodafone, Nike, Budweiser and Pepsi, hitting income by an annual £25m.

voila se qu´on fait on vend howard et caroll avec l´argent on essaye de acheter maneki et cudicini on essaye d avoir van bommel , on vend kleberson , regarder combien coute malouda et meme si sa va etre difficile on achete essien

==>heuresemen ke tu nes pas le manager...il nous faut simplemen un Essien et CAssillas et puis C bon pas la peine de se faire chier avc malouda.

De toute facon au niveau des ailier gauche on est quasiment sur que ca se reglera la saison prochaine et en plus je pense que downing serait meilleur que malouda.

En tous cas ce serait terrible d´avoir casillas il reglerait nos probleme de gardien pour un bon bout de temps.

Je prefere Frey et si Casillas part sa veut dire que madrid aura surement Buffon et sa je ne le veux pas ! !!

Bof de toute facon moi je me soucie de manchester avant tout donc si on peut avoir Essien j´aurais aucun remords et en ce qui concerne casillas il sera bien obliger de partir si buffon vient au real. C´est un gardien de classe mondiale il ne se contentera jamais d´une place de second gardien. Et puis comme manchester propose de doublee son salaire je pense que ca generai pas casillas de venir.

Mais si on a Frey a la place ca me derangera pas du tout. Il faut juste un gardien concentree pour eviter les bourdes style Caroll contre Milan AC meme si pour ce but la c´est pas completement de sa faute.

Par contre keano rentrera sans doute dans le staff de Mu et le millieu defensif qui aura le droit d´entrainer par keano va devenir san doute extraordiaire . .

Moi, je ferait plus confiance a Miller qu´a Essien

Miller joue presque pas chez nous c´est bien qu´il doit y avoir une raison et les rares fois où il joue c´est sur le côté droit.

Reported United targets Carlos Kameni and Michael Essien have both professed their love for United this week. United want them, they want United; a match made in heaven. Or so you would have thought. That´s until either Martin Ferguson or the money men get involved.

That´s the dichotomy - while United have spent big on some players they´ve bought very poorly at the bottom end of the market. When´s the last time United unearthed a bargain? It used to be all the time: Bruce, Irwin, Cantona, Schmeichel, Ronny Johnson, Solskjaer. Now we get Djemba-Djemba, Kleberson, Forlan and Bellion, and some of those weren´t exactly cheap either.

Here´s how it normally goes:

Sir Alex: Find me a top class midfielder to replace Roy Keane
Martin: Vieira? Gerrard? Gattuso?
Money Man: You´ve got £3m
Martin: Djemba-Djemba it is then

Kameni has a €4m buy-out clause in his contract so there´s a possibility United will go after him; they´ve had him watched numerous times this season. Essien, however, is a different matter. Given that the player has probably been the Champions League´s best midfielder this season he´s bound to attract interest from across Europe. To think he was at United as a 16 year old kid.

There is a cost to pay for buying poorly of course. United have taken a financial hit on Forlan, Veron, Bartez and Djemba-Djemba in recent seasons. They´ll almost certainly make no money out of Kleberson when he leaves this summer and the club move Bellion on if they gave him away. There´s only so many times the club can shell out millions with no return on the investment - especially if United aren´t making the latter stages of the Champions League.

So Essien and Kameni; we´d love to have you but the likelihood is that Fergie Jnr. will come back will pale shadows of the real thing once again.

Je pense de plus en plus que Kameni serait pas mal, surtout vu le prix, le potentiel ( il a une façon assez particulière de jouer, trés instinctif, mais assez énorme le potentiel pour l´avoir deja vu jouer pas mal de fois) et l´expérience internationale qu´il a deja avec le Cameroun. En plus jeune et un bon concurrent pour Howard.
