lyon ne lachera pas facilement essien.

A quinze jours d´un affrontement entre Arsenal et Manchester United à Highbury, l´association des managers de la Ligue anglaise de football a proposé de calmer le jeu dans la dispute opposant depuis «trop longtemps» Alex Ferguson et Arsène Wenger.

Manchester United avait mis fin au record ( 49 matches) d´invincibilité d´Arsenal en championnat, le 24 octobre dernier ( 2-0), ce qui avait suscité l´ire de Wenger compte tenu d´un but litigieux de Van Nistelrooy. Wenger avait été sanctionné d´une amende de 15 000 livres ( 21 753 euros) et réprimandé par la Fédération anglaise, pour mauvaise conduite.

Mais, les deux hommes continuant de s´invectiver par voie de presse, le directeur général John Barnwell propose une trêve entre les deux rivaux.
«De temps en temps, il y a un match très émotionnel et de fortes personnalités qui s´opposent. C´est ce qui arrive entre Sir Alex et Arsène depuis trop longtemps. C´est une histoire ancienne et il faudrait en finir. Si nous pouvons éteindre la polémique plutôt que de mettre de l´huile sur le feu, nous le ferons», a déclaré Barnwell à Sky Sports News.

Giggs won´t rush return

Ryan Giggs insists he will not rush his Manchester United comeback from a hamstring injury.

The experienced winger has missed the club´s last three games after tweaking his hamstring in the controversial 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had pencilled in the Wales international for his return in Saturday´s 1-0 victory at Liverpool.

But, after training for the game at Anfield, Giggs felt a slight twinge in his hamstring and opted not to play in the win.

He is unlikely to return for Wednesday´s FA Cup replay at Exeter City but could be available for the Premiership game with Aston Villa this weekend.

Giggs, though, is anxious not to aggravate the injury further and will only be back in action once he is confident he is not still suffering from the complaint.

" You have to be careful," said Giggs. " It is different training to playing.

" I have been trying to look at the situation positively and think at least I am getting a rest.

" In all probability, I would not have played the first game against Exeter, so I have not missed that many games.

" We had a lot of games in a short period of time before my injury so I hope I will come back fresher and pick up where I left off."

No FA rap for Rooney

Wayne Rooney will not face any censure from The Football Association for his goal celebration at Anfield on Saturday.

The Manchester United ace scored the only goal against Liverpool at the weekend and ran over to the Kop to celebrate his first half strike.

He cupped his ears at the Reds faithful, who had been constantly jeering the former Everton starlet from the moment Rooney started warming up.

Match referee Steve Bennett confirmed that he had included the incident in his report, although he did praise Rooney for his restraint.

The FA have now decided that the England international has no case to answer and will avoid any sort of charge.

Merseyside Police have also acknowledged that Rooney´s celebration will not be looked into.

Inspector George Dawson, Force Incident Manager, said: " At this stage it looks like Wayne Rooney had not committed any criminal offence. So I can confirm that he will not be investigated."

As Rooney celebrated with his team-mates in front of the Kop, a mobile phone was thrown from the crowd with police still trying to identify the culprit.

A police spokesman added: " We have recovered a mobile phone from the pitch. We are not sure whether it was thrown at anybody. We are making inquiries."

Keane: Defence Deserves Full Credit

Roy Keane says clean sheets are breeding confidence throughout the United camp after the 1-0 victory at Liverpool.

The Reds made it a club record-equalling seven games without conceding a goal, despite going down to ten men after Wes Brown received his marching orders for a second yellow card after the break.

Like his manager, the skipper was pleased with the fighting spirit shown by the team at Anfield and he was also full of praise for another resolute display from United´s defence.

" It was disappointing to lose Wes and I thought he was slightly unlucky," Keane told MUTV. " But sometimes when a team goes down to ten men, it´s harder for the other side to break them down as it proved in the second half.

" It´s very important to keep clean sheets because it gives us a lot of confidence and the coaching staff deserve a lot of credit for that.

" We´ve had to make one or two changes at the back during the last two weeks or so, but the players who have come in deserve a lot of credit because it can be hard to adapt sometimes.

" Playing at places like Liverpool is what being in football is about and winning there is always nice."

" If you´ve got clean sheets, you´ve always got a chance, especially with the players we´ve got in the side. We´ll always create chances and score the odd goal here and there so it gives us a great foundation to go on and win games."

United´s latest victory at Anfield was their third consecutive league win over the Merseysiders on their own patch.

" Playing at places like Liverpool is what being in football is all about and winning there is always nice," added Keane.

" It was a nice goal from Wayne - I fancied him to score - and it gave us something to hold onto. But the last ten or fifteen minutes at Anfield always seem to be the longest!

" You need a bit of luck along the way and Roy Carroll made a decent save towards the end of the match. But overall I thought we just about edged it and it keeps us in the frame at the top.

" We´ll keep fighting until the end - we´re Manchester United and that´s what we do."

Essien c´est pas la recrue qui fait rever et à moins qu´il atteigne le niveau du Keane de la grande epoque, je vois mal pourquoi Fergie depenserait 17 milions d´euros sur lui.

Cissé Edouard, physiquement imposant technique des deux pieds, frappe fulgurante de 25m ( Barthez :sarcastoc: ) et enfin un jeu de tête à faire palir Vieri ( prix de vente estimé : 10M + le retour de Gaby )

Bon pour les bourses plus modestes, Teixeira Felipe, milieu très actif qui peut se muer en buteur en cas de besoin

et on vous l´echange contre rooney , ruud et ronado . .

Moi Essien a la limite je le trouverai bon en pret histroire de prendre linterim au cas ou kean se casse pour avoir le temps de lui retrouver un remplacant de taille mais c klr que 17 millions c bcp trop pour lui.
