United to restructure deals

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has stated the club are looking to restructure the contracts of players at Old Trafford.

With many of The Red Devils stars on hefty wage packages, the club want to make around a quarter of the players´ deals based on the performance of the team.

Gill has stated qualifying for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League is crucial and that any loss of income suffered by the club should be filtered through to the players.

" Getting to the Champions League group stage is critical, and it is important that players contribute to that element," said Gill.

" Part of their remuneration would be dependant on them getting into the Champions League.

" If we don´t get in, our income goes down. That would be mitigated by the players´ wages going down.

" It would be good if we could get 25 percent based on that second element.

" For the young players, we need to look at them having appearance-based money but they would still get a very nice basic."

Manchester Utd : Carroll refuse de prolonger

Le portier nord irlandais de Manchester United, Roy Carroll a refusé la proposition de Sir Alex Fergusson de prolonger son contrat chez les Red Devils. Sir Alex n’abandonne pas l’idée de lui faire changer d’avis.

« Nous espérons qu’il va changer d’avis et qu’il restera. En ce moment Roy est notre premier choix parce qu’il est l’auteur de belles performances et parce qu’il ne nous a jamais laissé tomber. » Voilà les propos de Sir Alex Fergusson auprès de la BBC après que le gardien ait refusé une prolongation d’un an de son contrat. L’entraîneur espère bien lui faire changer d’avis. Par ailleurs il a réfuté avoir essayé d’engager un nouveau portier ces dernières semaines.

on risque de pas voir un nouveau gardien avant 2006 si fergie veut le prolonger d´1 an.

Internazionale midfielder Emre Belozoglu is tight-lipped on speculation linking him with a switch to Milan or Manchester United.

The Turkey international has been linked with a move away from Inter when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Though Inter have downplayed reports of the 24-year-old´s departure, rumours persist that he will leave the club.

Premiership giants United have reportedly held talks with Emre´s agent Ahmet Bulut and the player could be perceived as a long-term replacement for Ryan Giggs on the left flank.

The speculation also claims The Red Devils have invited Bulut to Manchester in December for further talks regarding a potential transfer.

But Inter´s city rivals Milan appear to be favourites to secure Emre´s signature, although the player is refusing to expand on the uncertainty about his future.

" I do not want to say anything about a transfer," said Emre.

" Milan is a big club but there can also be other clubs for me."

The reigning Serie A champions are thought to be prepared to offer goalkeeper Christian Abbiati in exchange for Emre, with Inter´s number one Francesco Toldo having endured a poor campaign.

Deja faut se dire que ces articles citent des sources assez improbables...et Keano comme Solskjaer sont sous contrat jusque 2006. Carroll refuse de prolonger pour le moment, donc ça pourrait entrainer un départ de O´Shea peut-être, et encore...Giggs partira pas.
