" Aux abois, Eriksson a rétabli son autorité et remis l´Angleterre sur le bon chemin de ces qualifications. En écartant David James et Alan Smith, réprensentant la médiocrité face à l´Autriche, Sven-Goran Eriksson a fait rendre gorge aux critiques ( Gary Lineker).

Marrant vu que Lineker était loin d´être un géant comme avant centre. La jalousie sans doute lui fait dire des médissances

Heinze Set For Debut As Ruud Nears Return

Gabriel Heinze is set to make a sooner-than-expected start for United on Saturday, while Ruud van Nistelrooy could make the bench.

Heinze arrived in Manchester on Tuesday, three months after signing for the Reds, and is odds on to be thrown in at the deep end on Saturday as Gary Neville is a serious doubt and Wes Brown, Quinton Fortune, John O´Shea and the suspended Rio Ferdinand remain on the sidelines.

Sir Alex told ManUtd.com on Friday: " There is a big chance he will play now because Wes Brown hasn´t had any football. With Gary [Neville] out and Quinton Fortune not fit yet, that leaves me with a problem. So I think there is every chance that Gabriel Heinze will play."

Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has been out with a hernia injury, last played in United´s Vodafone Cup win over PSV at the beginning of August. But he is set to make a return, most likely on the bench, against third-placed Bolton.

Of Wayne Rooney and van Nistelrooy´s fitness, Fergie said: " They are both coming along fine. Obviously Wayne is not ready yet. Ruud is very, very close. It´s a major decision for me, but I may put him on the bench on Saturday, that´s probably the sensible thing.

" Ruud has done a lot of training over the last ten days, he has done all the work we have asked of him. He just needs to get back into playing football now."

John O´Shea, Gary Neville and Louis Saha all came back from the international break carrying injuries.

Sir Alex added: " Louis Saha is out for Saturday´s game and it will be a race to get him fit for next Wednesday. There is a doubt there. Gary Neville is very doubtful for tomorrow, I don´t think he´ll make it. He should be ok for Wednesday.

" Ronaldo, Fletcher and Alan Smith, who wasn´t playing, have all come back OK. Everyone else is fit."

=>Excellente nouvelle^^

Old Traford agrandi

Player profiles:Cristiano RonaldoTeam Pages:Manchester United

Although Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson may have been less than happy that Portugal were placing more demands on precocious teenager Cristiano Ronaldo, the winger´s international displays have brought glowing praise from the legendary Eusebio.

Eusebio, who played against United in the 1968 European Cup final at Wembley for Benfica, has joined the chorus of approval for Ronaldo´s performances in the World Cup qualifying wins over Latvia and Estonia.

The Old Trafford idol scored once and set up the other goal for Pauleta in the 2-0 win in Riga before finally breaking the deadlock in the 75th minute of the 4-0 triumph over Estonia by heading past Sunderland´s Mart Poom.

Although Ferguson is concerned that Ronaldo is carrying a hamstring strain, the player showed no ill effects during the two games.

" If he can get there ( among the game´s greats) depends only on him," Eusebio told O Jogo. " The road is clear.

" He must have his feet firmly on the ground and the future, again, only depends on him.

" He must always look to better himself but still know his place and respect his elders.

" And maybe never smoke nor drink alcohol!"

Wenger’s attack
Arsene Wenger has officially resumed hostilities with Manchester United by claiming Wayne Rooney´s arrival at Old Trafford could lead to accusations of Everton deliberately losing to Sir Alex Ferguson´s team to make money. Everton will pocket £1million every time United win the title as part of the deal for Rooney and the Arsenal boss said: " It is worrying. Everton could be in the situation that if they have nothing to lose anymore, they could lose to United and get £1million. That´s why I believe this kind of contract should not be allowed. It is better to avoid it so there is nothing contentious at the end of the season. This kind of contract gives you a problem."

Roo blow for England
Wayne Rooney is OUT of England’s crunch World Cup qualifier against Wales on October 9. Coach Sven Goran Eriksson had hoped to have Manchester United’s £30million strike whizkid back for the Old Trafford clash. But last night United boss Alex Ferguson insisted: “Wayne is still three weeks away.

Al have a job on
Sam Allardyce has no doubts Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is already getting the best out of Alan Smith — and that means trouble. The Bolton chief has to try to formulate a plan to keep the England striker quiet at the Reebok Stadium today. But he believes that is now doubly difficult because Ferguson has ironed out the hitman’s faults since his £7million summer move. Allardyce said: “The one downside you could have said about Smith was his lack of goals. Apart from that, everything about him as a player is top drawer — and now the goals have started to come as well.”

Keane must be kidding
Jose Mourinho has warned his Chelsea high-fliers against writing off Manchester United. The Blues head into today’s clash at Aston Villa with a 100 per cent record from their first four Premiership matches. But boss Mourinho shrugged off surprising admissions from United skipper Roy Keane that the Red Devils are no longer feared by their rivals. He said: “When they play well they are capable of playing some really good football — and they have amazing players.”

Rocket man
Paul Scholes believes his decision to quit England has left him hungrier and fresher than ever to drive Manchester United back to the top this season. He said: “When you are playing games all the time, you feel you could do with a rest. Playing for England meant I didn´t really get that, but that will be different now. I´d like to think my form will improve for United because of that and that I´ll also get to play more."
David McDonnell, Daily Mirror

Fergie: No sweat
Alex Ferguson insisted last night: “It’s crazy to suggest we’ve blown the title.” If results go against Manchester United today, they could go TEN points behind Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premiership. But manager Ferguson, preparing for today’s date at Bolton, said: “I am not worried that we are behind. Our situation is being over-hyped. We have been way behind before and that has not worried us. The time to start worrying is March or April.”

United expand Gold Trafford
Manchester United have made a formal planning request to increase their ground capacity to 75,000. The expansion, likely to cost £40million, would generate £7.5m a season and ensure Old Trafford stays the biggest club ground in Britain.

bon ben c´est un tournant de la saison auourd´hui . .

donc go MUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
