Miller Set To Start At Stamford Bridge?

Roy Keane may start as a centre-half against Chelsea on Sunday, paving the way for Liam Miller´s Premiership debut.

Miller could well have played his way into United´s starting line-up at Stamford Bridge after impressing against Dinamo Bucharest in midweek.

The Irishman has an opening in the first team as Ferguson considers again deploying Keane in defence, while Darren Fletcher misses the match through suspension.

Of the possibility of playing Keane at the back, Ferguson said: " It´s certainly a marvellous option open to us. But I´ve not finalised my team yet.

" Keane showed us, as we expected him to show us, his wonderful experience and influence he has over everyone. I thought he was fantastic. There were a number of good performances on Wednesday, and Keane was one of them."

Sir Alex added: " There are no further injuries after Wednesday night, which is obviously good news. But Darren Fletcher misses the match and that takes one off the list of players I have available.

" But I am satisfied in the players I have got from Wednesday; I thought they did a great job.

" Liam Miller comes into the equation after his second half performance. He did very, very well and impressed me greatly.

" I would have no hesitation in starting the lad," added the boss.

Fletch Called Up For Scottish Friendly

Darren Fletcher has been called up to Scotland´s squad to face Hungary in an international friendly next Wednesday.

Fletcher, an integral part of Berti Vogts´ side, is likely to earn his ninth cap for Scotland.

At just 20, Fletcher is the youngest outfield player in the squad. Only Celtic´s 19-year-old goalkeeper David Marshall is younger than the United midfielder.

Fletcher misses United´s Premiership opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday due to suspension.

Sir Bobby Sees The Need For Smith Aggression

Sir Bobby Charlton has hailed United new-boy Alan Smith, claiming that his signing adds a necessary aggression to the team.

The 23-year-old has been forced to plough a lone furrow in the midst of United´s crippling injury crisis, and Charlton admits that his early old Trafford career has been a baptism of fire.

Sir Bobby said: " We haven´t had a player like Alan Smith. Maybe Mark Hughes 10 to 20 years ago was the type of aggressive player that you can maybe compare with Alan Smith,"
" Whenever you see Alan Smith you see someone who gives 100 percent and is a type of forward that defences don´t like.

" At the moment, he seems to be doing everything on his own, we have injuries with most of our strikers.

" He is a very, very talented striker and we´re very happy that we have him."

United eyeing Canadian talent

Premiership giants Manchester United look to be the latest club to be handing a trial to highly-rated Canadian youngster Jaime Peters.

The 17-year-old midfielder has been in England trying to earn a contract with a club following his departure from German Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern and his abilities have seemingly attracted the interest of Sir Alex Ferguson´s side.

Championship sides Derby County and Ipswich Town are also running the rule over the talented teenager, with Town admitting they are keen to sign the winger.

Millwall, who have already signed fellow Canadians Josh Simpson and Adrian Serioux in the past week, also seem eager to have a look at Peters.

The youngster caused The Lions all sorts of problems in a pre-season friendly last month in Vancouver, when he played in the Canada ´B´ squad against Dennis Wise´s men.

Peters hails from Pickering, Ontario, which is the same hometown as Derby County striker Paul Peschisolido, and has an impressive international resume with caps for his country at Under-17, Under-20 and Olympic Under-23 levels.

The youngster has also been named in Frank Yallop´s full Canada squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Guatemala in Vancouver next Wednesday.

England coach Eriksson will ring the 29-year-old Manchester United midfield star ahead of naming his squad later today for the friendly against Ukraine. Eriksson said: " I´ll call him to see if I can change his mind. It´ll be a final call, why not? I´ve got nothing to lose. I doubt if he will change his mind but I must make a try. If Paul is not going to play again we must find someone else."

Nan mais ça se fait pas en 24mns30s un transfert...Et il y a beaucoup de paramétres qui entrent en ligne de compte comme l´état de sa cheville, ses négociations pour une prolongation à Everton, etc.

Enfin bref, match nul entre Tottenham et Liverpool 1-1 qui arrange tout ceux qui ont pas encore joué ^^
