The first passage is some rubbish about Todd and colleagues and QuakeCon and Skyrim being the fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls saga and how its absolutely fantastic blah blah.
The next bit mentions being given equipment from the get go to try it out and about character customisation like face paint so blah blah again.
The 3rd paragraph talks about the favourites menu system and how they went hunting foxes in the wilderness after coming out of a cave where they spawned blah blah yet again.
The 4th paragraph mentions POV (nothing new there)... and a huntress with a dog companion who they chat to. The huntress walks on, finds a mineral deposit and starts mining it with a pick axe which breaks off some chunks of rock. This sounds a little more interesting.
The fifth paragraph mentions the idea that if the player had a pick axe the player could mine the ore too. Howard says there are a dozen varieties of minerals which can be melted and used. Crafting is going to be extensive. They come to a small farming village and the local blacksmith lets them use his setup. They state they could make iron daggers, iron helmets, leather armor, and jewellery (we can make jewellery!). They also state that they lacked the raw materials to make other stuff and the attributes/effects of the items were unknown at first glance (no mention on skill level to be able to figure out what stats items made have).
This seems to be mostly about crafting, I think what they mean is this: there isnt recipes for exclusive items to be made in Skryim, they are more products of profession skills (Im assuming they are referring to smithing as an example). They mention investing skill points to enable the player to use higher quality materials to produce better equipment. Without special skills the smithy can be used to only a moderate degree providing you have the basic materials required in your inventory. Without raising your skill points [in professions] fur can be tanned, you can melt ores and cook food. It talks about what you can cook with some bonuses attached to those dishes blah blah Fruits, vegetables, meta, herbs, fur, are all abundant in Skyrim. They mention snow/ice berries. Herbs alone provide limited effects, but cooking them improves the effects ( I think thats what they are getting at).
They found a skill book which when read raises the block skill.
They mention glow-worms and describe Whiterun.
They found 3 NPCs standing around the corpse of a giant. One is Alea the Huntress.
They mention stables.
It seems that entry into a closed city was denied, the guards stated that only those with business in the city may enter. They mention persuasion, bribery, and violence as options. And thats where the demo was ended because time had run out.
