After recently purchasing 32% of software developer/publisher Sony, Samsung has announced they will acquire the company in its entirety. Samsung will purchase over $6.9 million dollars worth of additional stock, giving them controlling interest in Sony.
Samsung, in addition to being a large Toy manufacturer and owning a small console software publishing division, is also part of the Konami Group, which includes developer/publishers Konami, Hudson Soft, and Genki.
Samsung hopes to finish the acquisition by March 2004. There is no word on how/if this will affect the U.S. branch of Sony.
