Xbox at the arcade, Virtua Fighter Evolution and more.
Find out what Microsoft is doing to counter-act the PS2 compatible boards, and the Nintendo Triforce. More inside.
Following a trend that was started by Sony with its PS2 Compatible Board with Tekken 4 and Nintendo Triforce with games like F-Zero and Star Fox, Microsoft is going into the arcade business.
Using a board simply named “Xbox compatible arcade board” the board is to be used so that consumers may get a taster of future Xbox, and even PC games made by Microsoft and various other publishers.
Most exciting of these games that is set to be the first game to take advantage of the board is Virtua Fighter: Evolution developed by AM2 of Sega. This comfirms the updated version of Virtua Fighter 4. Little is known about the game but that the graphics will be significantly updated, it is exclusive to the arcades and Xbox and it will not be much different from the Xbox version. This is certainly nothing to fret over as the Xbox version of the game will follow shortly after the arcade version.
Of the rumored games to use the board in the future is Microsoft’s Mech Assault and Capcom’s Tekki. Xbox Evolved will keep you updated, along with anything that may develop at E3.
