Au total, cela fait 11 starters, et un roster maximum de 17 joueurs.

Déroulement de la saison : 16 équipes réparties dans 4 conférences.
De la week 1 à la week 14, chaque équipe joue 14 matchs, dont 6 à l'intérieur de sa division (2 contre chaque équipe).

Puis, de la week 15 à la week 17, les playoffs, entre les 6 meilleures équipes de la league. Les 2 meilleures équipes sont exemptées de 1er tour. (En fait c'est exactement comme les playoffs NFL, sauf que c'est une seule conférence).
