Final Fantasy Versus XIII is officially announced at E3, as part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation, alongside Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (subsequently renamed Final Fantasy Type-0). Is announced as exclusive for PlayStation 3.
January 2007
After 8 months of silence, Nomura announced that FF Versus XIII will allow some sort of exclusive support for the PS3 Sixaxis controller.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is not even presented to the Tokyo Game Show.

The Public Square-Enix finally a new video, adding new content to those already shown in the trailer home. The movie shows some fight sequences with multiple characters engaged in battle.

After 5 months of no-comment, Nomura announced that the development of FF Versus XIII is temporarily forced to slow down, because the team is making its own contribution to the release of Final Fantasy XIII. After the short-Square-Enix belie these statements, attributing to a lack of a translation of what is said by Nomura.
July 2008
During E3, the Square-Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be multiplatform, and then developed for both PS3 and Xbox360. It remains however an exclusive PS3 confirmed for Versus XIII, which is still not at the event.
August 2008
The software house refers to the absence of last month by releasing a new trailer that shows the entrance of a female character in the field, the video shows us fight against the protagonist.
October 2008
During the Tokyo Game Show, Square-Enix reveals the name of the protagonist, Noctis, and the girl shown above, Stella. For the first time are displayed entirely in-game sequences, depicting a dialogue between the 2 boys. No specific order, however, to battle or exploration.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII was shown at E3.

The team assures sull'avanzare of works, which proceed at a remarkable speed thanks to its experience with the design of Final Fantasy XIII (Versus XIII development proceeds at full speed).

During the Tokyo Game Show, the home of the Chocobo projects a short film, strictly behind closed doors, which shows Noctis across different locations.

Final Fantasy XIII is released in Japan and a few months later, in America and Europe. Still no trace of FF Versus XIII.

Nomura revealed on Twitter that gamers will travel the world of FF Versus XIII with an airship.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will not be shown at E3. In return, Nomura said that the storyline and even the character designs and costumes are now complete (complete scenario for FF Versus XIII). A few days before, had published the magazine Famitsu screenshots of unreleased (New details and exclusive screenshots).

Work starts on the dubbing of the episode, whose cast has now been established and confirmed (Nomura reveals the opening of the voice casting). Nomura confirms via Twitter that Versus XIII is being designed exclusively for PS3, decision was made after a discussion on the current market and design costs. At TGS 2010, the promised video is shown strictly behind closed doors, and you will succeed in getting a recording only to amateur event completed (An amateur video shows footage of the TGS). Close to the end of the month, Nomura promises that new information will come next year (Nomura promises major revelations, but in January), and reveals some news on a map, events and battles (Update on Development).

After months of silence the press, Square-Enix public finally a new trailer for 6 minutes on the history, characters, and the combat system (The new trailer!), Subtitled in Italian by Rinoa's Diary and made available together to a myriad of images (Info and pictures from the trailer in HD!). Nomura confirms that the game will never see the light in 2011.

Still months of silence the press and still fragmentary information given by Captain Nomura (New for FF Versus XIII) which reveals that the game is still in pre-production, and that the team is working hard to get into the real production own.

The manufacturer confirms that the title of the game will remain unchanged, and will not be abandoned 'Chapter XIII.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is not presented at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2011 The great absentee. Yoshinori Kitase confirms that the game has entered the production phase.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still missing after the appointment with the E3. The comment of Square-Enix in the magazine Game Informer: "We appreciate the enthusiasm shown for this title, but at the moment we have no new information on its development can be shared. We are extremely grateful for your continued support to the saga of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Versus XIII ".
