Citation d'Antaloor post 9 :
A few more questions
about The Temptation
have arrived. Miroslaw
Dymek, the head of
Reality Pump (the Two
Worlds developer studio)
took some more time to answer
them exclusively for our readers.
How much will this new game have
in common with Two Worlds?
A lot! Naturally we're aware that
Part 1 left many loose ends, storywise...
but many of these will be tied
up in the The Temptation. The sequel
carries on almost seamlessly from
where Part 1 left off – and it has the
same heroes. And yes, we have
thought about a logical start which
takes both the possible story endings
in Part 1 into account. Players will also
come across a couple
of old acquaintances
like Gandohar
and a relative of
Whitehead's.
Has the AI of opponents
been enhanced
or have you
left the way it is?
AI is one of the main elements in a
successful RPG. So we haven't just
been sitting around daydreaming
about AI – the programmers have
been working on it day and night! The
result is a much more flexible intelligence
- town guards, for example,
now reactmore accurately to the player's
actions – and quest givers and
their acquaintances speak differing dialogs,
depending on how far along the
hero is in a quest.
Will you still work on the old Two
Worlds graphics?
The same answer applies here – if you
don't enhance graphics, you stagnate.
We've enhanced our graphics engine
and can now provide players with
some real eye openers – the first
screenshots will give everyone an idea
of the lengths we've gone to...!
Can you tell me if I can enter the
Dwarves' city?
I won't be letting any cat out of the bag
on that one... not yet, at any rate! In the
coming sequel, The Temptation, Northern
Antaloor plays no role whatsoever.
But Yarmalin now... that's still a very
interesting topic for us...
--------
I told you all about the new feature
"Carry and use items" in one of the
first issues of the Antaloor Post –
now we can show you the first pictures
of a hero carrying something.
These motion sequences were integrated
into the game by means of motion
capturing – so the actual acts of
picking something up and carrying it
are really realistic. Now it's up to the
hero if he wants to carry the barrel
to a higher location or throw it at the
first opponent he comes across!
