Dimanche 02 octobre 2005 - (RDS.ca) - Trois joueurs ont été retranchés au camp des Bulldogs de Hamilton dans la Ligue américaine.

Ainsi, les ailiers droits Brock Radunske et Mathieu Melanson ont été retranchés tout comme le défenseur Jordan Little et le centre Tim Sestito.

Radunske a été assigné à l´équipe de Greenville dans la East Coast league par les Oilers d´Edmonton. Melanson a été retourné à son équipe junior de Québec dans la LHJMQ. Quant à Little et Tim Sestito, ils ont été libérés.

from what I saw Locke looks to be one of the Habs prospects that will benefit from the new rules because of his skill and smarts, he maybe a Hab next year taking away Dags spot.

Kost´s seemed to be just out there for a skate and looked disinterested when the puck wasn´t around, he needs to be more into the game at all times to help his game come around. When he does have the puck his skills kind of remind me of Kovalev, so the potential is there now we have to see the consistancy and overall improvement.

Hainsey, didn´t even notice him....he is a flop!

Benoit was a great signing he looks to be a good prospect and at 20 a good young future Dman.

Michaud will always be a AHLer or ECHLer, his lateral movement is aweful and he is very slow to react to rebounds and to get up off the ice. I was very disappointed and see why Montreal needed to pick Price because the cupboard is bare with Danis in the NHL and Halik needing to develop.

Ferland looks to be a solid player and a potential 3rd-4th liner in the future.

Lots of other comments, but I think those are the things that really stuck out in my mind.

As far as getting excited about Kostitsyn is concerned, im gonna wait a few more games before thinking he has finally got it going (and this coming from a big fan of his ). He had a good game last night, skated well, used his teammates well (his assist showed he has good awareness and understood what was needed of him, although he may not have executed the pass as well as he´d like) and on a few occassions, showed some nice defensive awareness. When attacking, he had a few nice moves, got some good shots away and looked impressive. But it was just one game, which he will hopefully use as a springboard to get himself really flying this year. If he keeps playing like that, then we have no worries.

Richard_Zednik above mentioned something about Kovalev and needing motivation, which may well be true, but there was one play last night that just instantly made me think of Kovalev. I think the Dogs were still on the PP (in the 3rd) and Kost got the puck behind the net. He skated out round to the left along the boards with a guy draped all over him, he almost lost his balance at one point but kept his feet underneath him and kept control of the puck. He continued skating round towards the blueline and pulled a nice move to beat a guy closing him down while this other player was still on his back, kept hold of the puck the whole time before laying it off to a teammate. His strength on that play and ability to still control the puck i thought was very reminiscent of Kovalev.
