Wolves Announce Roster Moves

The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has released guard Tyrone Ellis and forward Paul Shirley from its 2006 Training Camp roster. The team´s roster now stands at 15 players.
Ellis, a 6-4 rookie guard from Southern Nazarene, played 15 minutes in three preseason games for the Timberwolves. Originally signed by the Wolves on Oct. 2, Ellis appeared in five games for the Timberwolves´ entry in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 8.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 24.6 mpg in five contests.
Shirley, a 6-10 forward from Iowa State, played in two preseason games, logging a total of eight minutes. A three-year NBA veteran, Shirley signed with the Wolves on Oct. 2. He averaged 7.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 23.8 mpg in five games for the team´s Las Vegas Summer League entry.
The Timberwolves host their final preseason game at Target Center on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls at 7 p.m. Minnesota´s regular season Home Opener is Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Target Center vs. the Sacramento Kings.
