A couple days after the Brazilian championship finished and Corinthians won the title although that is still to be proven at court due some charges by Internacional the Brazilian Football Federation has handed over the recognitions to the players that marked the year 2005.

One of them is our offensive midfielder Dejan Petkovic (Dejan Petković) whose nickname ‘’Rambo’’ and great football performances are well known from Europe to South America where he is playing since 1997 unless we count in the gaps in 1999 when he joined Venezia and in 2003 when he spent one season playing in China for Shanghai Shenhua.

The 33 year old veteran has been selected as the best midfielder of the league as he presented some superb displays in 20 league matches during which he also scored six goals. In the previous season the former Real Madrid and Crvena zvezda Beograd has played probably his best year ever as he netted 18 goals in 36 games for Vasco da Gama… overall an excellent player.

So all of this makes us wonder when will Ilija Petkovic (Ilija Petković) call him up to defend the national colours of Serbia & Montenegro as this is the last chance for Rambo to show off on the great elite football tournament.

The excuse cant be the great distance between Brazil and Europe since the actual chairman of Crvena zvezda Dragan Stojkovic (Dragan Stojković) used to come from Japan to captain the national selection, so there must be some other reason… but which is it… nobody except the people from the FA don’t know and they seem to have swore on silence.
