1. as the BIOS finishes posting, tap the F8 key once a second, or hold F8 pressed till the Safe Mode options list appears on the screen and select Safe Mode, logon and disable Hibernation. If it doesn't make a difference proceede to suggestion 2.
2. Or turn the computer on and leave it on till it boots... it may take a long time but leave it alone for at least an hour before giving up... and proceede to suggestion 3.
3. Download the Hiren's Boot CD or USB, boot into Hirens Boot CD/USB and select the Mini XP option... once you have access to the Hard Drive, delete the C:\"Hiberfil.sys" file... it's a hidden file so unhide it as follows:
Explorer\Tools menu\Folder Options\View tab\mark "Show Hidden files and folders", and unmark the box in "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"... restart the computer and boot your Windows XP
4. Last option; If your computer is a PC, and there is another one available: You can remove the Hard Drive and install it on the other computer as secondary drive and access it from that OS, unhide files as instructed in suggestion #3 and delete the C:\Hiberfil.sys file... install the hard drive back in your computer and boot it.
Use the Quick Links on the left to download the Hiren's Boot CD/USB
