Bonsoir,

In first time, the notion I will explain is « Seats and forms of power” and the issue is :”“Can people from different cultures live together in harmony?”
In order to answer this issue, I'm going to talk about Aborigines and their custom, the Stolen Generation, Legislation and Arts.

So, first, Aborigines society is the oldest society in the world and this society speaks near [ two-hundred and fifty ] languages.
They live in Australia, and their population represents 2% of Australia.
The Aboriginal flag is composed of 3 colors. The first one is the red which represents Arts of Aboriginal, the second one is the yellow for the sun and the third one is the black for black people.
Aboriginal
From the beginning of colonization in [one thousand four hundred and ninety-two ], the aboriginal peoples were exploited and exterminated.
Indeed, Aborigines were victim of segregation and decisions of the government which would like a white Australia.

Secondly, I'm going to speak about the stolen generation.
In the nineteenth century, Australian government wanted a country which consisted only of whites.
So the Stolen generation refers to the Aboriginal children removed from their family according to laws by Australians government. The aim was to educate those children as whites and then to marry a white person in order to have white babies hence having a white Australia.
For example, in the movie “Away from home” that we studied in class which tells the history of 4girls who were removed from their family.
It's a real story and I think it's a good thing to make movies about this subject because a lot of people don't believe that things like this ever happened in the past.

But the legislation involved, indeed, since [ one thousand nine hundred and seventy-eight ], the Aborigines have the same rights as a classic Australian.
Since [ one thousand nine hundred ninety eight ], 26th May is the national « Sorry day ».
The country apologized for what they suffered.
Moreover, on February, thirteen, two thousand and height, Kevin Rudd gave a speech in Canberra in front of the Parliament. He apologized to Indigenous communities for the Stolen Generation. People became very emotional upon hearing the formal apology of the government for their past mistreatment as it acknowledged the reality of their suffering hence moving towards reconciliations between the different communities.

Aborigines destroy the stereotypes claiming that they are illiterates notably with art. We can name the artwork 2% which show that they can realize amazing artwork and that show that Aborigines is not to illiterate.
The 2% refer to the proportion of Australians who declare themselves Indigenous.
In this artwork, they use traditional Aboriginal design but sometimes breaking stereotypes. They aren't use dot painting but geometrical figures. It means that traditional art can be reinvented. They would like to remind viewers that Aborigines still exist and they are to be taken into account without stereotypes.

To conclude, I would like to say that the situation of Aborigines is better and better but there is still inequalities in USA.
We can also talk about the situation of black people which is equivalent and which is as well better and better.
In opposition, I would like to speak about what recently passed in Paris, what show that today, people from different culture can't in all case live in harmony.

Merci de l'aide, bonne soirée. :)
