Tru Blu poursuit son chemin en annonçant la sortie du très attendu (en Australie!) AFL Evolution, pour la première moitié de 2017. On sait désormais que ce sera le joueur Marcus Bontempelli des Western Bulldogs qui a été choisi pour la couverture du jeu, après un vote de 128000 fans tout de même!

Les développeurs du jeu Wicked Witch donnent qqs détails intéressants:

"A few quick things to answer some initial questions from around the place, as few us will jump on between late night pizzas, weekends and mountains of cola and energy drink cans...

So uur mandate for making this game was pretty clear. We have been working to make the game fun and challenging to play, to make it look good, and to have as many features as time and budget would allow. Basically every part of the game was re built from the ground up for the new consoles, with the aim being to take the best parts of AFL Live 1, the good things about AFL Live 2, and even some influence from some of the older titles, all the while taking into account as much feedback from as many people and groups as possible.

We have not announced the feature list yet, but some of the big ones are that there is a career mode to play and manage teams, and a pro mode to play as one player through a career, an online fan hub system and dozens of smaller features such as body shapes, tattoos, grubber kicks, lob handballs, and yes, even socks up or down.

Yes the Fan Hub will allow creating full teams and line ups, and it is cross platform. No there will not be a stadium editor in this version - it has been discussed, and we can look into that again more you all think its worth it, in time.
It is great to have an updated Dennis Cometti as the main commentator again and the addition of Matthew Richardson as the colour commentator.

In both the career mode and the pro mode, you can start as an U18, work your way up, play for the VFL and eventually get drafted into an AFL Team, some contract stuff as well to try and get traded onto your desired team or if you get dropped etc. You can also play as an existing player, or go strait into the AFL Premier League if you want to. Yeah commentary can be tough, but like everything else, it is improved and better than before, and we are getting it as good as we can!

We will try and release more bits and pieces and info leading up to Christmas, but to be honest a gameplay teaser or early footage is most likely going to be in the new year. Cheers!"

On connait désormais la jaquette de AFL Evolution qui comme prévu représente Marcus Bontempelli mais également Isaac Heeney et Chad Wingard. Pourquoi alors avoir procédé à ce vote auprès des fans surtout pour rajouter 2 joueurs qui n'étaient pas du tout dans les premiers (le top 3 comprenait notamment Tim Membrey et Adam Treloar!!)? Une histoire de marketing et de $$$ certainement!
